Cold In My Beak

Like my mama always says, I have a cold in my beak :( I have a pretty bad cough and my nose is a waterfall. I have three tests this week (Anatomy, Physics, and Nutrition) AND to top it all off that monthly friend knows the perfect time to stop by. (tmi..?) Anyway, I've decided to include some happy things in my blog in order to cheer me (and you if it's that kind of day) up! Happy Monday

Heels vs. Toms

I love me some heels and when marriage time rolls around I'm sure I'll end up picking some massive pumps; however, how stinking cute are these. Don't hate. I want these as my wedding shoes. My feet wouldn't hate me and they are pretty. Comfort AND style. Anywho, that is my thought of the day.
Happy Saturday!

Wowzers!

Lots has happened in the span of one week. Let me begin:

1. I made salmon for dinner one night. This was probably the nicest meal I've eaten while I've been here. Missing my Uncle Lee's salmon, but this was pretty tasty. Coated with a pesto-basil spread and a crust of bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese!

2. I am changing majors! For some reason I've been having conflicting feelings about dietetics. I love nutrition, but I don't love it enough to go through one of the hardest programs at BYU. So what am I changing it to....? ATHLETIC TRAINING! This is who I want to become...
Biggest Loser will not be the same without her.
But seriously, I truly believe physical activity can help and even save lives. Instead of helping people eat I just want to help people sweat!

3. I have a new website addiction. Pinterest.com It's a website that will help me plan my wedding, decorate my home, give me new hair ideas, supply me with yummy recipes, etc. Try it! but..it's addictive!
SMORES BAR!!

4. I got my first 100% on my Anatomy lab quiz. I did really well on my first solo for my vocal class. And I basically convinced my physics professor that are homeworks are bologna and making everyone fail.

5. TV Series: Rookie Blue is over for the season. 90210 has begun. I have 2 new addictive shows: Take the Money and Run and New Girl.

ATTENTION: One Tree Hill will be starting it's final season this Fall. If I become depressed and eat an entire container of ice cream by myself...you will know why.

6. I'm offically planning on studying abroad. The only decision is....Europe during Spring or Mediterranean during part of Fall. Decisions, decisions!

That list doesn't seem like a lot, but it seems like a TON to me! Oh, plus I taught my first Relief Society lesson today on the Post mortal Spirit World. Interesting first topic. Anywho, I feel like I'm progressing this year...finally! Let a new week begin!

Zumba!

Took my first Zumba class today and I loved it! I totally thought I was going to stand out like a sore thumb, but there were lots of people: large, small, old, young...everything! If you haven't heard of Zumba it's basically just dancing as a work out. Our instructor told us to leave your ego at the door and just let loose! It was so fun! Lots of hips shaking, body rolling, jumping up and down. If you haven't tried Zumba just go! I'm glad I did! Anyone belong to 24 hour fitness?? Come with me on Saturdays :)

One last thing...LET'S GO COUGS!

Happy Saturday

Timpanogos

Mount Timpanogos is the second highest mountain in Utah's Wasatch range. Guess who hiked it?? Me! We left provo around 1:30am and started our hike around 2:15am.

We barely made it to the top by sunrise, but we did! Can I just say coming from the east coast...I thought I was dying. Living at an elevation of 350 ft over the summer then hiking a mountain that is 11,800ft--oxygen seemed hard to come by. My legs felt fine until we started going down hill. Then the knees started aching and my feet were tired. After 15 miles there and back I was just about ready to collapse, BUT it was all worth it for the view up top. :)

Good TA's Are Fantastic

It's officially been one week of school, (Well, I still have one more class but anywho!) and I'm sure you all are wondering what I have learned. I don't feel like explaining what I have learned in my classes, but here are some of my first week of school discoveries.

First, I finally have discovered the wonders of a good TA. I went to a review right after my lecture and let me tell you...this guy will be my life saver when it comes to my Anatomy lecture. I will remember his name...haha

Second, my tennis coach and high school physics teacher is a better instructor than my college professor. Thought it would all just kind of come back to me...seems like I'm probably going to have to study a little more.

Third, a clean and organized apartment is a happy apartment.

Fourth, the hill...no wait...the MOUNTAIN that I have to climb to get to campus is so daunting that every time I approach it I honestly ask myself if I can make it up!

Fifth, I have a pretty great ward! I guess I look like the teacher type, but I have been called to be a teacher again. This time in Relief Society. Bring on the cookies! The girls seem very nice (and older), and the guys are really friendly. We frequently have a few pop by the apartment just for the heck of it! haha

Sixth, I do miss home. I miss my family and friends.

The first week of school is always really hectic and it seems overwhelming, but I'm starting to get the hang of all of my classes and assignments. Wish me luck for the rest of the semester!
Happy Friday!
