Vending Machine

Today was filled with all sorts of good things and hopefully that will only continue this week. Church was loaded with one spiritual moment after another. My lesson went well today, but I'm grateful I don't have to teach until the new year I think. I had another lesson on "Of Things That Matter Most" and how we should simplify our lives a little in order to do the best we can rather than mediocre jobs in some areas. I ran into Carly (girl from my Music class) after church and long story short I'm going to Jump On It on Thursday!! I've been waiting to go since forever, but no one ever wants to go :( It's a tumbling gym...yes, I'm 5 years old.
Side note: My cousin, Madeline had a gymnastics birthday party before I left for school and Amanda and I ran around with these munchkins and pretty much acted like little kids again. So much fun!!
I took at 3 hour nap after church. Again, can't emphasize enough how great Sunday naps are.
Then I was off to a fireside. M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve spoke and here are some of my notes:
- Keep the gospel simple and give the Lord equal time
-Pray to be faithful to the very end--no one is secure until then
-Principles of the gospel are the bridge joining mortal to eternal life
-This mortal life is a test for how dedicated we are
-Callings in the church only help you to prepare for future callings and so on and so forth

Even for those who aren't in the church:
-Do the right things for the right reasons
-Don't let technology take all your time and take you away from the most important things
-Come to know how strong you are

After the fireside I did my homework and and now I'm sitting here writing this blog before I hit the hay. I have a comment about the Taylor Hall vending machines. One in particular. So we have a total of 5 vending machines and the one with all the "Breakfast Drinks" as I would categorize it, continually breaks. If you try to get an apple juice from one of the slots it doesn't quite make it into the "transporter" and then proceeds to make everyone (ok maybe just me) really mad that they can't buy a milk for breakfast. Then today as I was stocking up on milk (you have to when it's not broken!) I watched the "transporter" as it moved to retrieve my drink and at first it moved in zig zag directions around the machine...almost like it's trying to trick me! "Where is it going! I didn't want Orange Juice! Oh...there it goes."-type of situation. One day, I'm going to show that vending machine who is boss-not sure how, but I'm going to! And that is the story of the Taylor Hall vending machine.

Days until Thanksgiving Break: 16
Christmas Music Countdown: 18
Money already spent on Christmas decorations: won't get into that
American Heritage Class left: 12
Some countdowns make me happy, and some make me groan...not sure if I'll keep them up.

After reading this post over, I realized it doesn't do justice on how great I felt today-just hard to put into words. Happy Sunday!!
